About The Artist

I'm Sarah Heinke, an artist based in Nottingham, England, and I work primarily in acrylics. I am drawn to the beauty of nature and all of the things that often go unnoticed, the colours, the patterns, the sounds. My art is shaped by the beauty of the world, and the nature around me.

After having a long break from art, pushed by emotion of losing some very important people and navigating life with a young family, I picked up a paintbrush again. I was reminded that time is precious, we should slow down and enjoy every moment. Art, for me, brings a sense of peace and presence, giving us that time to slow down and truly take in the beauty around us.

Animals are so present in every moment, yet so important to the world that we live in. This is why I am drawn to painting them. I love to use a thick, expressive style to present character, movement and emotion. My work demonstrates a sense of freedom.
